"You set a table before me in the presence of my enemies...", David sings to his friend and Lord in Psalm 23. That line sounds so appealing, doesn't it? To have a banquet table filled, set and ready before you in front of your enemies is quite a scene. Or does it? Your enemies are swirling all around. How comfortable would that be to actually relax, sit and eat?
Recently I have heard God asking the question. Do you trust me enough to relax in the presence of your enemies, to sit down, relax, eat and enjoy the table I have set, filled with amazing and wonderful things, right in front of you?
The enemy has roamed this earth since he was tossed out of heaven, and he will continue to roam it until Jesus puts him in his place. However, even though he roams, he has NO authority except that which we give him through agreement with his lies and deception (Matt 28:18) because he has been defeated!
God sits on His throne and laughs! (Ps 2:4) Let's join with Him and fill our lives with the Joy that He knows, and we know, when we abide in Him. He is lavish in His love (1 John 3:1) for us!! Receive His table! What has He set before you? In what ways do you abide in Him, to be able to relax at that table and eat? Comment below, I'd love to hear!
